We are excited to share that the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is releasing five additional Card Decks, helping us go even further in making travel more accessible for everyone!
COTA has been making an impact with its earlier MagnusCards® Card Decks, which covered topics such as “Planning Your Trip” and “Fares and Ways to Pay”, and is now taking the next step to support inclusion at every level.
COTA MagnusCards® empowers independence for autistic and neurodivergent individuals, seniors and newcomers through its mobile app. It provides text, audio, and visual step-by-step guides in English, Spanish and Somali to help get around.
Check out COTA’s five additional Card Decks in the “Travel” category:
- Adding a Pass to your Smartcard: Learn how to access benefits like fare capping and simplified transfers by adding a pass to your Smartcard.
- COTA Park and Ride: Discover COTA’s Park & Ride locations to save on transportation costs and cut carbon emissions.
- COTA//Plus (On-Demand Service): Request a ride through COTA//Plus, especially to access areas not directly serviced by fixed routes.
- Mainstream (Paratransit Service): Reserve your trips through Mainstream, designed for riders whose functional limitations prevent them from riding COTA’s fixed-route vehicles.
- Navigating the Transit App: Explore how to use the Transit App to plan, track and pay for COTA rides from your smartphone.
For many people facing cognitive, language or systemic barriers, public transit is a pathway to freedom, connection and dignity. When systems are designed to be inclusive, they open up access to jobs, healthcare, and fully participating in community life.
COTA, along with over 50 other Inclusion Partners, is helping create practical changes that make everyday life more accessible and independent for everyone.
